Annual December Appeal
December brings us to our Annual Appeal for contributions to fund our scholarships for Austin-area students and grants to community organizations serving those in need.
Through the years, we have made grants to the following:
- 3 scholarships to Austin-area students
- 3 grants to Austin non-profits helping those in need:
- Casa Marianella, an emergency homeless shelter serving recently-arrived men and women immigrants, asylum seekers and asylees
- Saint Louise House, helping women and their children move from homelessness to healthy independent lives
- VECINA, helping empower immigrant justice advocates by mentoring attorneys, educating communities and mobilizing volunteers
- Manos de Cristo, helping individuals and families meet basic needs with food and clothing, and essential oral care
- Women’s Storybook Project, connecting children with their incarcerated moms through the joy of literature
- and others
In addition, we make annual contributions to Rodriguez Elementary School in southeast Austin and BookSpring, located in South Austin.
